Happy Lunar New Year !

As we step into this luminously filled with positive potential new year; I reflect on where I was a year ago, how so much has shifted and how I’ve grown through the process of working through all of the challenges I created. It humbles me and fills my heart with compassion for myself as well as all of the beautiful souls that have been and those that still are on my path with me.
Numerologically this year is the beginning of a new cycle, and according to the Vedic/Sanskrit wisdom this is the first full year of the transition periods between yugas (time periods) as we move into Sat or Dharma Yuga at the end of 2037. Per the Vedic wisdom this transition period will be loaded with change as we shift some major paradigms. Some of the old paradigms will crumble as we implement more synergistic ways to move forward and co-create a world that is conducive to the well-Being of all.

The Shamanic Principle of Limpia

The Spanish word limpia, when used shamanically, is a call to cleanse deeply, to purge, to clear. It is the process of purification that is carried out in sacred Ceremonies. This purification is done through the spiritual realms, the shamanic worlds, the energetic plane, the mind, body & emotional heart.

Limpia is the process of healing. There are so many words or expressions for cleaning in the Shipibo language.

What I have learned from my work and through the process of limpia in Ceremony is that there are so many layers to it and ultimately it is a journey that takes time. Part of what has built my knowledge base for this subject is the wisdom shared with me from my master plant teachers.

The simple truth that helps clarify the intention of limpia is that everything is energy and thus carries a frequency.

Hygiene: the degree to which animals, including people, keep themselves and their environment clean, especially to prevent dis-ease (Cambridge dictionary extrapolated). This takes into account 2 very important aspects of Ceremony; the people and the environment. In order for healing/cleansing to potentially take place, the Ceremonial components are the same; a safe container and safe participants. Overall hygiene is the prime ingredient for a container to facilitate purification. Part of the process for sitting in these containers is proper Preparation. During this period one takes the steps necessary to begin opening up to the fullest extent that one can by honoring the guidelines that facilitate a softening of the ego, an opening of the heart and mindfully moving through life to cultivate intention with heart. This preparation paves the way for the healing space to serve to it’s fullest capacity.

In my work of preparation and to maintain purity for the healing spaces I create, I have crafted habits of mindful attention to the layers of energy in every facet of what I do, what I eat and what I take in all-around. The Vedic wisdom speaks to the karma carried in saliva and the importance of honoring these seemingly subtle levels of energy as to what we choose to take on. This may be part of the generally accepted practice of washing our hands before meals; to take in our food purely and unadulterated. Holistically this is also observed to help avoid taking in parasites and other things that may cause dis-ease.

To keep this as concise as possible, I will sum it up by stating that the principle of Limpia is an all-encompassing practice that incorporates every facet of diet, energetic & literal cleanliness of lifestyle choices, the spiritual plane and strengthening the protection in these realms,

The (shamanically understood) root cause of all dis-ease is spiritual, which may include karmic ties/choices/momentum.

The overall remedy for all levels if dis-ease is limpia, even on the karmic level.

Let’s co-create a world in which the driving force is Love & Compassion 🙂
